Bing Crosby died after playing in a similar international celebrity tournament in Madrid Spain on October 14, 1977. Bing Crosby sponsored his own charity celebrity golf tournament in Acapulco Mexico. The tournament had been held three times before his death. This golf bag is from the third (TRES VIDAS) and final tournament. The Golf Bag is a large tournament sized bag. 36" (3 feet tall), 10" - 12" oval throat, width about one and a half feet. The colors are the Mexican National Colors of RED / WHITE / GREEN. The leather embossed patch on the front of the bag is 9" in diameter and features an embossed image of Bing himself and embossed lettering "BING CROSBY INTERNATIONAL FIESTA TRES VIDAS". The two side patches, both on the left and right side have 7" diameters and feature Three Palm Trees and embossed lettering "BING CROSBY INTERNATIONAL FIESTA ACAPULCO TRES VIDAS". As historical background, I was high bidder at the Phoenix Boy's Club auction in 1980. Katherine Crosby had donated some personal items that Bing kept in a secured member locker at the Phoenix Country Club. The annual tournament originated each year in Phoenix for the charter flight into Acapulco. This bag was presented to Bing upon his arrival in Acapulco in the spring of 1977. The feel of the leather like material is really deceiving. I can't tell if it is leather, leatherette, or naugahyde. All of the large zippers function and the zipper pulls are hallmarked "ASPRO GIGANTE #1". On the back side there is a metal maker's tag hallmarked "BOLSAS FIGUEROA HECHO EN MEXICO".  This golf bag would make a statement in any serious golfer's home entryway.
