Hello, I have a very hard to come by personal golf bag used by MARLENE HAGGE A HALL OF FAMER. If you thought Michelle Wie was a golf phenom, you should have seen MARLENE HAGGE - then known as MARLENE BAUER - In the 1940s and 1950s. She was The famous child golfer of her time. and her accomplishments were such that the associated press named her it,s female athlete of the year 1949. She was only 15 years old. Her career took her to the golf hall of fame. Hagge began playing at age 3. and she dominated the California Amateur cercuit in the late 1940s. In 1947, just 13 years old , she became the youngest player to make the cut at the U.S. Womens open and finished 8th. in 1949 she won the first ever U. S. Girls junior championship. At just age 16, she was one of the founders of the L.P.G.A. and when Hagge began her LPGA career in 1950 she did so as the youngest tour member at 16. She has much more history that can be reached by computer. Tour victories=26. with the 1956 LPGA championship. Marlene Hagge , on being one of the 13 LPGA co-founders: "I never thought of myself as a pioneer. We were just a bunch of stubborn women who loved golf and figured we could make it happen." Now to the bag, Green and white, all the zippers work, the stitching all seems to be good, Bottom of bag has a gold colored tree and under the tree it reads La Quinta. Vertically on both sides it reads NORTHWESTERN. The brass manufactures tag is BELDING.SPORTS. I think the material is vinal? It looks so good I can,t tell.500.00
