Description
Hunt trophy elk on the famous Loma Grande Ranch, in New Mexico's GMU 36, just north of the Mescalero Apache Indian Reservation. This ranch is about 500 acres in size, and is absolutely the most pristine deer and elk habitat in GMU 36. The terrain on this ranch is very mild, making this an excellent hunt for a hunter who is not in the best physical shape. This is a fully-guided hunt, including meals and lodging, on the ranch, and a personal guide for the entire five days. Ulisses Silva, of Mexico City, killed this monster 8X7 bull with us last year, on the public land, about 300 yards from the back fence of the west pasture. This bull and his cows were watering, feeding and bedding on the ranch every day. All the other elk and deer in the photos were killed by our clients while hunting from the Loma Grande Lodge, either on the ranch, or on the public land surrounding it. There will only be three bull elk hunters total hunting the ranch this fall; one bowhunter, Sept. 15-22nd, one muzzleloader hunter, Oct. 4-8th and the rifle hunter who buys this hunt. There will also be one cow elk hunter, who will hunt after this hunt. Hunt dates are any five days Oct. 11th through Dec. 31st, however, we recommend hunting before mid November, because this ranch sits at about 8200 feet elevation, and the elk migrate to lower elevations later in the year. If a hunter chooses to hunt Oct. 18th-22nd, he may also hunt mule deer with a muzzleloader for an additional $750. It may also be possible to hunt black bear, subject to harvest quotas. Hunter must also purchase a New Mexico elk license, resident $91, non-resident, $768, plus a $5 stamp. The elk hunt alone normally sells for $8500. If you have any questions, please feel free to give me a call. Jess Rankin(575) 622-6600
